About Richard Nicholson

My name is Richard Nicholson and I am a Chartered Arboriculturist and a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association. I have worked in local authority planning for over 30 years.

I chaired both the review group and the editing panel for the 2012 review of BS5837 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction- Recommendations and chaired the review group for the previous revision.

I have lectured and provided workshops for the industry and undertaken a range of in-house and external training sessions for local authorities.

You will get a high quality, personal service from me based on site specific recommendations. You will not get a lengthy formulaic report with standard appendices. I believe that if a development can be shown to work through discussions with the design team, the information that I provide should give the local planning authority assurance to grant planning permission. I like to think that my offer is an authentic and consistent approach which sets RNapc apart from the rest.
